The 1st International Joint Seminar onEducation and Social Issues

The 1st International Joint Seminar on Education and Social Issues was successfully held on 28 November 2024 via Zoom Meeting, bringing together educators, researchers, and students to discuss contemporary matters in the field of education.With the theme “The Transformation of Education in Digital Society”, the seminar aimed to explore how digitalization continues to shape and redefine educational practices and social development across the globe.The session featured an insightful presentation by Siti Nurmathasya Mohamed Thahir, a representative from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), who shared her academic perspectives in line with the seminar’s theme.

Two respected academicians, Dr. Romarzila and Dr. Nor Mashitah Radzi, from the Department of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Human Development, Sultan Idris Education University, played key roles in the seminar. Dr. Romarzila also served as the main speaker, offering valuable input grounded in her expertise in early childhood education and digital integration.This seminar marked a significant step towards fostering international collaboration and meaningful discourse in adapting education to meet the demands of a fast-evolving digital world.

Kuliah Tamu: Early Childhood STEM Education

Univeristas Syiah Kuala (USK) and Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) had made a collaboration in conducting a program 'Early Childhood STEM Education' as a theme. This program was coordinated by the Faculty of Teaching and Education, Universitas Syiah Kuala.  Kuliah Tamu was conducted on 17th October 2023 at Auditorium LT, 3 FKIP USK. The moderator of this program was Miss Rahmi from USK,  and USK had invited Dr. Romarzila Omar from UPSI as a resource person. It was compulsory for all Teacher Education and Early Childhood Education program students to attend and bring their own tumbler for this program.

Lectures with Postgraduate Students

On the 19th of October 2023, Dr. Romarzila Omar received an invitation to deliver postgraduate lectures at Universitas Syiah Kuala in Indonesia, hosted by the Dean of 'Fakultas Pasca Sarjana.' During this academic engagement, which unfolded in the past, Dr. Omar devoted one hour to addressing master's and Ph.D. students specializing in Science Education and Early Childhood Education. The content of her lectures encompassed a broad spectrum of topics, offering students a rich and insightful exploration of key themes in their respective fields. Dr. Romarzila expertise and interactive teaching style fostered an engaging learning environment, promoting meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange among the postgraduate attendees. This collaborative educational initiative contributed significantly to the academic development of the students at Universitas Syiah Kuala.

During the knowledge transfer session on October 17, 2023, hosted by Universitas Syiah Kuala in Indonesia, Dr. Romarzila Omar conducted a comprehensive exploration of Robotic & Computational Thinking in STEM Education. This informative session, which occurred in the past, was specifically designed for master's and Ph.D. students seeking an in-depth understanding of these critical concepts. Dr. Omar, along with fellow panelist Dr. Mohd Razimi bin Mohd Husin from UPSI, enriched the Kuliah Tamu with their collective expertise. The collaborative effort between the panelists aimed to empower students with practical insights and applications of Robotic & Computational Thinking within the realm of STEM Education. The session contributed to a meaningful transfer of knowledge, enhancing the academic experience for attendees at Universitas Syiah Kuala.
